Alice Phang

Instructor

Alice is an Anusara Inspired teacher.  Besides attending workshops and training within Malaysia to upgrade her yoga knowledge, she has also travelled to other asian countries to study extensively from the founder John Friend, and many senior Anusara Certified Teachers namely Desiree Ramburgh, Any Ippolity, Martin Kirk, Noah Maze, Jonas Westling and others.  Alice has 7 years of teaching experience in Malaysia since her graduation in 2004 with Yoga Arts, Australia, teaching in gyms, yoga studios, private classes and workshops in Malaysia.  Alice is also trained in Astanga and Hatha Yoga.

She was a gym fitness instructor before switching her full focus on yoga.  She believes yoga should be pain-free, fun and safe and therefore teaching with precise attention to Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment is her ultimate goal so students will experience/discover the ease and beauty of each particular pose.  the sense of balance and perfect stillness of mind when 'in the flow'.  She encourages students to practice with an open mind, a soft heart and a joyful spirit.   Through a dedicated yoga practice, we all will ultimately be kinder, more compassionate, increase awareness and become conscious beings who will make this world a better place for all.

Alice moved to Nanaimo in October 2009.   She likes it here,  people are nice and friendly.  She is eager to connect and share her knowledge and experiences with all yogis and yoginis on this beautiful Island.  Let us all 'Flow with Grace'.
